Next week on Emmerdale, Ethan’s career and reputation look set to be destroyed when he’s arrested for fleeing from the scene of a car accident.

1. Nicky fights for his life
Nicky remains in a bad way at the hospital after his involvement in a car accident with Ethan. His worried parents Caleb and Ruby keep a vigil by his bedside.
The worrying circumstances finally bring Ruby and Moira together as they bond despite their recent tensions. Ruby also vows to seek revenge as she wants to know who was driving Nicky’s car at the time of the crash.
There’s also a thawing in the frosty relationship between Caleb and Cain. Caleb confides in his brother about his own plans to find the mystery driver.
2. Ethan confesses to Charles
Ethan struggles with his guilt as his family praise him for landing a new job. Charles notices that something seems to be bothering Ethan, so he pushes his son to open up.
Ethan confesses that he was driving at the time of the accident, but he intends to lie to the police about what happened. Charles is shocked as Ethan even asks him for a false alibi.
3. Charles makes a difficult decision
Charles refuses to cover up the truth and instead reports Ethan to the police. When Ethan is arrested, it dawns on him that Charles must have betrayed him.
Ruby witnesses the arrest and rushes to confront Ethan, realising that he must have been the driver. Charles soon questions his decision to report Ethan when he sees how devastated his family are over the lawyer’s arrest.
4. Tom seizes control again
Tom continues with his disturbing attempts to control all aspects of Belle’s life.
This time, he tries to isolate Belle from her family and also opens a joint bank account for the two of them.
5. Tom’s violence continues
Tom realises that his efforts to drive a wedge between Belle and her family have backfired when he looks at the puppy cam and spots Belle, Mandy and Lydia talking. He’s furious when he hears the three of them playfully teasing him.
Tom arrives home unexpectedly and puts on a cheerful show in front of Mandy and Lydia. However, as soon as Belle’s family leaves, Tom becomes violent again in another terrifying moment.
6. Vinny is left mortified over Gabby
Paddy and Mandy realise that Vinny is lonely, so they ask Gabby to spend some time with him. Vinny enjoys Gabby’s company in The Hide, but he misreads the signals and tries to kiss her.
An embarrassed Vinny apologises when Gabby insists that she doesn’t have any romantic feelings for him. Gabby explains that Mandy and Paddy were partly to blame as they secretly set up the meeting.
Later in the week, Laurel suggests to Gabby that she should try breaking away from her usual type of men. Will Gabby start to see Vinny in a new light?
7. Ella worries about her new relationship
Ella and Liam enjoy an unusual picnic date at the scrapyard, complete with wine.
The pair seem smitten with each other, but Ella gets cold feet the next day as she starts to feel overwhelmed by their relationship progressing so quickly.
8. Nicola feels under pressure
Nicola is among those organising the village fete and she’s grateful for the distraction from her ongoing worry over Angelica.
However, Nicola quickly becomes stressed when she realises that not enough progress is being made to meet upcoming deadlines.
9. Billy faces a new reality
Billy and Dawn also face a tough time as they adjust to the reality of Evan’s illness.
Billy finds it difficult to juggle his childcare commitments with hospital visits.
10. Kim gets jealous at Home Farm
Rose finds her new life at Home Farm difficult as Kim still seems determined to exclude her from family matters as much as possible.
Rose becomes intrigued by Kim and Lydia’s close friendship, so she starts chatting to Lydia to find out more about her. Kim can’t help feeling jealous when she sees Lydia and Rose bonding.
